Volunteers will gather to pack meals that will be distributed to local food banks, shelters and orphanages around the world. While we are incredibly grateful for all who volunteer, it does take more than helping hands to buy ingredients and package the food. We recommend a donation of $35 per volunteer to help us continue our mission and offset food costs.

What To Expect
Arrival and Check-In
Upon arrival, volunteers will check in at the registration table. You will receive a hair net and gloves and a brief orientation about how to pack a meal.
Packing Sessions
Whether you’re coming on your own or with a group, you’re welcome! Volunteers will pack meals in teams of 8–10, and we’ll happily place individual volunteers into a team when they arrive.
Breaks and Refreshments
We will provide snacks and drinks throughout or after your shift. There will also be scheduled breaks to recharge and socialize with fellow volunteers.

Volunteer Roles
There are various roles available for volunteers, including:

Packers: Assemble oatmeal kits with the help of team leaders.

Team Muscle: We need strong men and women to help carry and restock ingriedents, carry boxes and other heavy lifting. .
No experience is necessary, and all training will be provided on-site.
Partnerships
We are proud to partner with local organizations and businesses as well as orphanages that share our commitment to fighting hunger. These partnerships help us maximize our impact and reach more individuals in need locally and around the world.

Is there an age limit for volunteers?
Volunteers of all ages are welcome! However, young children should be accompanied by an adult.
Do I need to bring anything?
Just your enthusiasm! Bring a hat or a hairnet will be provided. We will provide all other necessary materials for packing.
Can I bring a group?
Absolutely! We encourage groups from schools, churches, and organizations to participate. Just let us know how many will be attending when you register.

Food for Kidz is a nonprofit based in Stewart, Minnesota that has been bringing communities together to fight childhood hunger for over a decade. Since its founding, the organization has helped volunteers pack and distribute millions of nutritious meals for children and families facing food insecurity both in the United States and around the world. Food for Kidz partners with schools, churches, businesses, and community groups to host volunteer food-packing events that turn teamwork into life-sustaining meals.
